About AFI Digital Services

The Partners & Standards
Behind Our Work

We are technology-platform agnostic and recommendation-led — but we maintain deep, current expertise in the platforms and tools most commonly required by our clients. Every tool we recommend, we have used in production. Every standard we cite, we meet.

Standards

Standards & Certifications

The internationally recognized standards our work is measured against — because our clients operate in regulated environments where compliance is not optional.

WCAG 2.1 AA
Web Content Accessibility Guidelines — the international standard for digital content accessibility, required by public sector mandates, UN procurement policies, and Section 508. All AFI digital deliverables meet WCAG 2.1 AA as a baseline.
SCORM 1.2 & 2004
Shareable Content Object Reference Model — the standard data communication protocol for eLearning content and LMS platforms. All AFI eLearning content is SCORM-packaged and tested across multiple LMS environments before delivery.
xAPI / Tin Can API
Experience API — the modern standard for tracking learning data across platforms, including mobile, simulations, and informal learning environments. AFI supports xAPI-based reporting for clients with LRS infrastructure.
PDF/UA (ISO 14289)
PDF Universal Accessibility — the ISO standard for accessible PDF documents, ensuring screen-reader compatibility, logical reading order, and proper tagging structure for all PDF outputs in AFI's content digitization practice.
OWASP Top 10
Open Web Application Security Project — the globally recognized framework for web application security. All AFI platform development engagements include OWASP Top 10 compliance review as a standard exit criterion before production deployment.
GDPR & Data Privacy
General Data Protection Regulation — the European data privacy framework and the gold standard for global data protection. All AFI platforms and digital marketing programs are designed with GDPR-compliant data handling and consent management built in.
Section 508
US Federal accessibility requirement for electronic and information technology — commonly required by clients working with US government agencies, federal contractors, and organizations subject to US federal procurement rules.
EPUB3
The current international standard for digital publications — used in AFI's content digitization practice for the production of interactive, accessible digital publications from legacy print content, compliant with major distributor and library requirements.
SAML 2.0 / SSO
Security Assertion Markup Language — the standard for enterprise Single Sign-On integration. All AFI enterprise web portals and LMS platforms are built to support SAML 2.0-based SSO authentication, enabling integration with Okta, Azure AD, and other enterprise identity providers.

Our Approach

Technology-Agnostic. Standards-Led.

We don't recommend technologies because they're convenient for us. We recommend them because they're right for your infrastructure, your team, and your users.

Every tool recommendation is production-tested

We only recommend platforms we have used in production at scale. No theoretical familiarity. No vendor incentives that override client suitability. If we suggest a tool, we can show you examples of how we've used it to deliver outcomes similar to yours.

Standards compliance is non-negotiable

WCAG, SCORM, xAPI, OWASP — these aren't optional extras for us. They're baseline requirements. Our clients operate in contexts where regulatory compliance and accessibility mandates are enforced. We build to those standards from the first line of code or the first page of content.

We work with your existing infrastructure

We design solutions that integrate with the technology you already have — your LMS, your CMS, your CRM, your identity management. We don't ask you to replace your infrastructure to work with us. We adapt to your environment, not the other way around.
